Rules for Poster Awards for Young Scientists at Annual JSCC Symposium

We establish this Award in order to promote advances in coordination chemistry.

Section 1 We establish the Poster Awards for Young Scientists at Annual JSCC Symposium (here after the “Poster awards”) that will be given to authors of posters with outstanding contributions to promote advances in coordination chemistry, among the posters which have presented at Annual JSCC Symposium.
Section 2 The Poster Awards shall be given to about ten authors every year.
Section 3 Conditions in effect for recipients of this award are that they are members of JSCC as of the date the award winners are announced for the fiscal year and that they are post-graduate students or doctoral research fellows, etc. The award will not be available to specially-appointed substitute teachers or persons of equivalent positions.
Section 4 The Poster Awards shall be given to an individual who contribute to main portion of the poster presentation, and whose originality is admitted clearly.
Section 5 The Poster Award shall consist of a certificate. The winners will be announced in JSCC website and in the Bulletin of Japan Society of Coordination Chemistry and be given the certificates.
Section 6 The JSCC Poster Awards Review Committee (here after the “Review Committee”) shall be responsible for the selection of the Poster Awards. Some JSCC members approved by the JSCC councils shall be the Review Committee members, and the vice president of JSCC shall be the chairman of the Review Committee.
Section 7 Selection of candidates shall be made in accordance with the provision of “Additional Rules for Poster Awards for Young Scientists at Annual JSCC Symposium.”
Section 8

These rules may be amended by a careful discussion at the Council and an approval at a general meeting of JSCC.

These rules become effective from October 1, 2002.

Additional Rules for Poster Awards for Young Scientists at Annual JSCC Symposium

(General rules)

Section 1 Grant of the Poster Awards for Young Scientists at the Annual JSCC Symposium (here after the “Poster Awards”) and management of the JSCC Poster Awards Review Committee (here after the “Review Committee”) shall be in accordance with the provision of “Rules for Poster Awards for Young Scientists at Annual JSCC Symposium” and this additional rules.

(Entry)

Section 2 One application from each research laboratory shall be accepted for this award. Applicants shall apply in alignment with the guidelines listed in the Bulletin of Japan Society of Coordination Chemistry (BJSCC) issued for the relevant fiscal year or in Symposium guides, etc.
Section 3 Past winners of the Poster Awards shall not be permitted to apply for the Poster Awards again. Past winners of the JSCC Student Lecture Awards (hereinafter “Lecture Awards”) shall be permitted to apply for the Poster Awards only two years after winning the Lecture Awards; however, they shall not be permitted to apply using the same research material. Persons shall not be permitted to apply to both the Poster Awards and the Lecture Awards in the same year.
Section 4 The executive committee of Annual JSCC Symposium shall offer necessary material for the Poster Awards grant, and shall cooperate to run smoothly the Poster Awards review.

(Review and Review Committee)

Section 5 The review shall be made according to the section 1 and the section 4 of Rules for the Poster Awards, taking valuation of his presentation into consideration.
Section 6 The chairman of the Review Committee (the Vice president of JSCC, here after the “Chairman”) call the Review Committee. The Review Committee should be held with the answers or the attendances of two thirds or more of the Review Committee members.
Section 7 The review shall be held by voting.
Section 8 These additional rules may be amended by a careful discussion and approval at the Council.
Section 9 As a basic rule, the Award winner shall contribute a conference review on the winning research to “Bulletin of Japan Society of Coordination Chemistry” (BJSCC) which will be published in the next year.
These additional rules become effective from September 14, 2003.
